A Good Look

Hello all! Just wanted to share with you something that I discovered yesterday... I really enjoy taking a verse out of the bible and just totally breaking it down.

OK, I am going to be typing this verse from the NIV Proverbs 31:25-31.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

Just in this sentence alone helps us understand who we are supposed to be in Christ for our families. We already have the strength of Christ in us and with that comes dignity and purity. And with these things comes also TRUST that God will take care of the trials that come with the morrow! So we can laugh and smile in a way that we know that everything is under control! There is no where that we can go where the GRACE of God does not cover us!

26 She speaks with wisdom; and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

We have the knowledge of God: For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6) So, what is the meaning of faithful instruction on her tongue? "and on her tongue there is tender instruction" God's Word® Translation. In this translation we can see that she is giving kind and tender instruction to her servants or to whomever. Even though she has them they are treated and spoken to with respect and love. She treats EVERYONE in a manner where she BUILDS them UP.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

As she is watching and making sure everything is being done that needs done for that day, she doesn't JUST watch and give orders. Idleness means to be LAZY. She does NOT eat the bread of idleness meaning she maybe watching to make sure everyone is doing their part but she is defiantly doing her part as well! She doesn't just stand by and sit on a throne eating grapes all day and ordering servants around. No! She has a "check list" that she makes sure is finished at every day's end and her own hands are in it! This brings humbleness and love to both sides! Servants and Women of the house! There is no boasting or harsh thoughts.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also; and he praises her: 29 "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all"

If in fact she was a selfish, rude, bossy woman, she would in deed not have this effect on her family! We are to be kind and gentle. When we give instruction its in a soft loving and humble voice! Even though we can get angry and in the world's view, "Have the RIGHT to be mad" doesn't mean we have the OK from God to be! No! A Christian Woman must be humble and loving at all times! Submission to her husband in a quarrel. You maybe right but you can be WRONG at the top of your voice and by antagonizing the fight! Women by nature are, what I like to call, FIRE FANNERS! So, keep your focus on Christ and nothing but love and self control will pour from you!

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Give her the reward she has earned and let her works bring her praise at the city gate!

Charm is not something that can be honestly there every second of the day nor can we ALWAYS be beautiful physically. But when we have Christ IN us, His unconditional Love flows through us and pours out onto the people we are around. People can not help but respond to that kind of love that Christ only can produce. To love the unlovable, to respect your husband when you don't think he "deserves" it and to be calm when your children make you want to pull your hair out. None of us deserve love and respect! We all deserve death! But because Christ died that we maybe a NEW CREATION, that's exactly what we are! When you accepted what Christ did for you on the cross you became a NEW CREATION and the old man was crucified on the cross with Christ! IT'S GONE! So when we are so lost in God, nothing but GOOD, perfect, unconditional Love flows from us! In this comes great rewards! Awesome relationships with your children and with your husband, financially, physically. God will always make sure you have everything you NEED! Your family will see what true everyday JOY you have from just being ALIVE! Praise God for Joy that comes from just having a relationship with him!

I want to challenge you all to seek God diligently and learn how to stay humble and loving in situations where you want to be angry and yell and scream. Submit those moments to God and ask him to help you be more like Jesus! This is a challenge for myself everyday, to be more like Jesus in every situation! I love you all and I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I did writing it! God Bless you!
